Transnational Meeting in Bergen

From 16 to 18 June 2026, the ReaLiTea project team members gathered at the University of Bergen, Norway, for a transnational meeting. We had the opportunity to review our progress, address some challenges, and plan the final stretch of the project.

The meeting

Over three days, we discussed the development of teaching and learning materials, digital resources, and strategies to strengthen our Research Community of Practice. One of our main priorities was the development of resources to support research literacy among language teachers and teacher educators. We reviewed progress on the Research Literacy Framework, including its new digital version and an interactive self-assessment tool designed to help users reflect on their research literacy.

We also discussed the teaching and learning materials. We paid particular attention to making these resources accessible, adaptable, and suitable for different learning contexts. Our discussions also raised important questions about how to encourage reflection and collaboration.

Our virtual Community of Practice

A key point in our meeting was our VCoP, hosted on HumHub. Our colleagues from Stuttgart presented the latest developments, and we made decisions regarding our spaces focusing on topics such as action research and ethnographic studies.  We explored strategies to make the platform more accessible, increase participation, and strengthen connections between the community and the teaching and learning materials we have developed throughout the project. Our goal is to create opportunities for sustained research engagement and professional exchange beyond the project's timeline.

During the meeting, we also held discussions to expand our dissemination activities, including conference presentations, workshops, publications, and the development of corpus-based resources. We discussed ways to make our outputs more widely available. Among other decisions, we agreed to start planning a final, online dissemination event.

Beyond work

Transnational meetings are also an opportunity to strengthen personal connections.  We explored some local restaurants (almost setting one on fire :) ) and enjoyed a trip to Mount Fløyen, where we enjoyed the stunning views of Bergen and its surroundings.

Thanks to Kenan for organizing the meeting and welcoming us to Bergen!
