Starting a New Year!

The start of the year is bringing renewed enthusiasm and a sense of new beginnings.

On 13/01/25 most of the partners met in an online meeting to discuss a template for the teaching and learning materials that we plan on producing for Work Package 2 ‘Teaching research literacy’. With this in place, we will shortly be able to start working on these materials in bilateral teams.

We are looking forward to working towards having the first tangible outputs of the ReaLiTea projects in our hands. This is a time of creativity, aiming to think out of the box that is our usual teaching practice and treading on new paths!

Over the last year, we have been busy finalising those aspects of the project that are the prerequisite for the production of teaching and learning materials on research literacy: The Professional Developmental Framework, which outlines the many skills that research literate teacher researchers can possess, has been validated empirically. It will now serve as a basis that the materials for pre- and in service teachers, novice and experiences teachers and emergent and expert teacher researchers will refer to.

Late 2024 has also seen the creation and evaluation by a critical friend of the first module for the teaching and learning materials for WP 3 (‘Teaching Reading Skills’) on ‘Staying up to date with professional knowledge’. Like the upcoming materials for WP 2, the module now awaits implementation in a variety of contexts – including in some of the partners’ countries – and further evaluation. Updates on these processes will be posted in future news items on this page.
