Our second online and third overall team meeting took place yesterday on Zoom. Our team updated one other on the progress of our Work Packages (WPs) and finalised dates and times for our second transnational in-person meeting.
As the meeting very soon revealed, every single team working on their respective WPs has made considerable progress. The corpus of different research genres was finalised, with impressive findings concerning the specific moves of research articles. A very comprehensive framework for developing teachers’ research literacy has been compiled and only misses very few details before it can be finalised as well. The framework includes many different areas, or facets, of teachers’ research literacy and should guide pre-service teachers in their professional development. Closely intertwined with this framework, a preliminary structure of the course modules for teaching research literacy in language teacher education programmes has been drafted since the last meeting. It was presented for further discussion in the team. These modules need to be closely aligned with the framework and allow for great flexibility to ensure applicability in many different teaching contexts. It will also be piloted in various educational institutions. An impressive report with a focus on teachers’ research literacy as a theoretical foundation was sent out for feedback by the team and will definitely inform the development of the course modules.
It has been decided that the second transnational meeting is going to take place at the beginning of April 2025 in Ankara, Turkey. Apart from project- and meeting-related matters, we were already discussing potential trips to tourist and culinary sites in and around Ankara which we could visit together before or after our intense meetings.
The team is making a great effort in moving ReaLiTea forward!
